To address the commitment and shifts in attitude required to succeed in college, I created an introductory video to getting into and completing college. Many students do not know what to expect when they enter college. They do not know the basic steps or ways to handle stress.
.
Addressing the Problem
The video offers a very brief glance at college life and shows the fundamental concepts needed to bridge the gap between high school and college.
The product is a windows media video that was produced using Windows Live MovieMaker for Windows 7.
Process/Techniques
To create the video, I conceptualized how to show the college steps using words and pictures. I created the script and then found pictures on the USF Marketing Website that I could use to complement the script. I found an audio file to serve as the introduction. I also found the USF Bulls fight song, which was introduced on the screen that encourages one to balance school and the social scene. I recorded my voice and then edited the three sound files to synchronize and harmonize with each other by amplifying or decreasing the volume settings and using fade in and out. I exported the sound clip in to an mp3 clip. I cropped all the pictures I had collected to be landscape and then imported all the pictures I had found. I created a title and credits screen and created transitions between each slide. I then saved the movie as a Windows Media Video file.
